The John Deere Model 50

The John Deere 50 - Harry Machado
This Model 50 belongs to Harry Machado. Harry uses his 50 with a "belly mower" for weed control.

The 50 was the successor to the Model B. It was produced from 1952 to 1956. The 50 and the 60 were the first tractors to have duplex carburation, live PTO, and live hydraulic. You can tell them apart from the Model A and Model B because they have the vertical grill instead of the horizontal louvers. Both the 50 and the 60 were available with an LP gas engine as well as the gasoline and "all fuel" versions. How do you tell a 50 from a 60? Look HERE.
The 50 was available in other wheel configurations, like the Model B, but never as a "Standard" tractor.
