"THE GREAT AMERICAN FARMER" was a 45 rpm record released by John Deere Co. in 1975 to commemorate the upcoming 200th Anniversary of the U.S. It portrays the important role American farmers play in our history and an insight into their way of life, their constant battle with Mother nature, and rural way-of-life, amidst their own fast declining, population in America today. Ralph Harrison wrote and performed the 4 min. 30 sec. song. The CD is totally remastered with excellent CD sound quality and available now in a limited quantity. Total production of the record was around 5,000 (one for every J.D. Dealer) but lack of promotion by the dealers, (and JD Co.), only, helped insure its fate, to obscurity, with no more pressings. This same recording was also issued on 8 track. This special CD comes with jewel case, inserts and label. Very similar artwork to original offering. Only $12 + $3 S&H.
