Oily Flywheel !!!!

> Dear Meli: I have oil seeping out of the crank where the flywheel bolts onto the crank. Is there a seal to replace?

Pay Attention!!!

That oil comes from the crankshaft bearings, which are pressure lubricated. If the bearings are worn, a lot of oil will escape from them, and the oil that escapes out of the outside of the bearing will make its way past the seal or "washer" that is supposed to keep it IN. That seal is right BEHIND the spacer that you will find inside the cover (B131R) that you will see when you remove the flywheel. There is no telling how long it's been since the washer and spacer have been replaced until you LOOK at them.
