The John Deere Model L

     ONE look, and you can see that the Model L is unmistakenly different from the rest of the two-cylinder tractors. It is much smaller and it has a VERTICAL two-cylinder engine, a driveshaft, and a FOOT clutch. The photo above is the early, unstyled version.

     The Model L was "styled" in 1939 and looked like this until it was discontinued in 1946. Still unmistakable.
    The Model LA was produced at the same time as the styled L. The biggest visual difference is that it has rear wheels with cast iron centers and separate rims that SHOULD be painted silver.
